Adobe to contribute AMF support to Zend Framework

Flash Platform, Zend_Amf

What does this mean for AMFPHP? I’ve not used the Zend Framework myself, does this mean AMFPHP is going to be rolled into it?

    Thats awesome! Congrats.

Will you be able to leverage AMFPHP for this? And will it also benefit AMFPHP in the process?

lee — I was able to leverage my experience in AMFPHP and also my wish list for how I wanted it to be integrated. I will bring some of the Zend_Amf classes back into amfphp.

John — AMFPHP will leverage this additiion a lot. There is a need for an AMF integration into a framework and zend is by far the best. There is also a need for AMFPHP which really leverages the ability to integrate it into anything. If you can image I have been breathing amf for the majority of 2008 so I am excited to continue development on both projects.

Very good news. Send us a draft as soon as possible.
I can’t wait having a nice relation between AMF and my customs ZendRow Objects.

Hey Wade, so as I understand Zend_Amf will not be part of the 1.6 release of ZF but instead the 1.7 release. However you will be speaking about it at the upcoming Zend Conf. Does this mean it will be available “unofficially” since 1.7 may not be released for a while? In other words, where can I download it for use today :) ?

    – Robert! Good to here from you brother. We should have a documented release before the confrence and with community support of the proposal will be able to have it in the 1.7 release. I am getting down to the nitty gritty stuff right now and am really happy with it.

    – Nicolas I will make sure that you can do that!

    Wade,

What’s your assesment on a release date?

Will we have to wait another year to get this going or will we be able to test a beta version of Zend_Amf?

    More great news,

Our company uses both Flex and PHP on a daily basis, having this integration will be a huge bonus.

    Thanks Wade/Adobe!

I’m very excited to hear about AMFPHP being integrated with Zend. I’m a greate fan of the Zend Framework, and am already busy on a project using Flex and Zend.

Can’t wait for the first release!
